Frequently Asked Questions
What types of kitchen knives do you offer?
MK-Knives creates handmade kitchen knives for professional chefs and dedicated home cooks. Explore Gyuto, Nakiri, Bunka, Sujihiki, and Petty & Utility knives. Each knife is forged and finished by Martin Kaanbjerg in Denmark.
What steels and materials do you use?
The collection includes high-performance carbon steels such as 26C3, O2 and ApexUltra, along with in-house Damascus, nickel Damascus and Go-Mai constructions. Handles are made from carefully selected materials including Desert Ironwood, Ringed Gidgee, African Blackwood, mammoth, horn and stabilized burls. The exact steel, hardness, grind and handle materials are listed on each product page.
Are the knives one of a kind?
Yes. Every knife is handmade, and no two pieces are identical. Available knives are ready to purchase, while sold pieces remain part of the archive as examples of previous work. Custom orders are also available for customers looking for something personal.
How should I care for a carbon steel knife?
Hand wash the knife, dry it immediately after use and never put it in a dishwasher. Carbon steel naturally develops a patina over time. For additional protection, use food-safe oil or Handle & Blade Wax. Read the full knife care guide for more information.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, MK-Knives ships internationally. Shipping prices and available delivery options are shown at checkout. Customers outside Denmark should review the shipping policy and any local import duties before ordering.
What are the warranty and return conditions?
MK-Knives stands behind the craftsmanship of every knife. Manufacturing defects are covered, while damage caused by misuse or incorrect care is not. Please review the current refund, shipping and terms pages before purchasing, or contact MK-Knives if you have questions about a specific knife.
