This 155 mm Bunka combines a compact, distinctive profile with traditional materials and refined craftsmanship, offering precision, versatility, and excellent control in the kitchen.
The blade is forged from in-house made San-Mai, combining wrought iron cladding with an O2 carbon steel core hardened to approximately 63 HRC. The natural character of the wrought iron, together with the dark Kurouchi finish, creates a rustic, textured appearance that contrasts beautifully with the polished cutting bevel.
A convex grind provides smooth, efficient cutting performance, while the generous 56 mm heel height offers excellent knuckle clearance. Weighing 158 grams, the knife combines a substantial blade profile with a comfortable, controlled feel.
The handle combines beautifully figured eucalyptus burl with African Blackwood. The intricate grain and warm tones of the burl contrast with the deep, dark wood, creating an elegant finish that complements the rustic character of the blade.
